How the desk handles personal information

What we collect

The contact form asks for your name, email address, the session you are asking about, an optional preferred day, and a message. If you later book, we also keep the confirmed time, the deposit record, the headcount, and the signature string you asked us to read. We do not ask for resident registration numbers, seed phrases, or payment card numbers.

The website stores a cookie-preference value in your browser under the key thinkcompass-cookie-consent. That value stays on your device. Server logs of the host may record an IP address and the page requested, for security and for keeping the site available.

Why we use it

Enquiry fields are used to reply, to propose a time, and to prepare the correct guide or printout. Booking records are used to run the session, to account for the deposit and the balance, and to handle a cancellation. The preference key is used only to remember whether you accepted or rejected the cookie note. We do not use enquiry text to advertise third-party products.

Retention

Unbooked enquiries are kept for 24 months from the last message, then deleted. Booking records, including the signature that was studied and the payment notes, are kept for five years from the session date to support ordinary bookkeeping. You may ask us to delete a signature string earlier if the invoice record can stand without it. Host logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your rights

Under the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea you may ask to see the personal information we hold, to correct it, to delete it, and to suspend processing, subject to duties we still have to keep accounting records. Write to hello@thinkcompass.click with the address you used when you booked. We answer within two weeks. You may also raise a concern with the Personal Information Protection Commission.

International transfers

The reading room and the booking notes are in Korea. Email you send us may pass through mail providers that route outside Korea while the message is in transit. We do not move the booking file to an overseas office. If that practice ever changes, we will describe the destination and the safeguard on this page before we rely on it.

Sharing

We share booking details with our bank when you pay a deposit, and with a professional adviser if a legal claim requires it. We do not sell personal information. A signature you asked us to read may already be public on the cluster; our copy of your name beside it is not.
